Professor Taibul Hoque

Prof. Taibul Hoque, is not mere a name but a living legend in Education Sector in Bangladesh. This light and leading person has been working for ameliorating the existing condition in education sector and for alleviating the ignorance of darkness by the light of education. He is a man of letters who was born in the village of Baraiyea under the upzilla of Dagonbhuiyan in Feni district in the year 1949. He is such a scholar who dedicated his whole life only for the enlightenment of education. He is the son of late educationalist, Moulabi Momtaz Uddin and late Habibar Nesa. His brilliance was brought to light when he completed his primary education with scholarship from Baraiyea Primary School in 1958. After completing class six from Dudmukha high school. He got admitted in Ataturk Model High School. From there he took his SSC in 1964 and later got admitted in Chittagong College. Because of having some inconveniences his admission was transferred from Chittagong College to Feni Govt. College and from there he passed his HSC in 1966. He took his Graduation Degree from Feni Govt. College in 1968. After graduation he got admitted in Chittagong University and took Post Graduation Degree in Economics in 1970. Along with academic life, his talents and brilliance was also revealed in his career. He began his career by joining as a Lecturer of Economics in Feni Govt. College on 9 August, 1972. 

He was promoted as an Assistant Professor in 1991. He became Associate Professor in 2001 while working in Noakhali Govt. Women’s College. After rejoining in Feni Govt. College in 2002, he became the Vice-principal of that college in 2004. This scholar was given promotion as a Professor in 2004 and joined as professor & Head of the department of economics in 2005 at Noakhali Govt. College. And the following year he joined as a Principal of Ramganj Govt. College. He transfered to the Feni Govt. College as Principal of  in 2005 and took retirement in 2006. After retirement he engaged himself with more devotion for eradicating illiteracy and ignorance.  In 2008, he became the Principal of Iqbal Memorial Degree College. 

He joined as First Treasurer which is the first and only private university in the greater Noakhali region of Feni University. His contribution and devotion not only are revealed in education but also in social, cultural and religious sectors. When he was a high school student, he established a library named Adarsha Pathagar. He was the Chairman of the managing committee of Baraiyea Ali Akbar High School and Ukilpara Munshibari Jame Mosque. 

He got married in 1976 with Mrs Rokeya Sultana, who is the daughter of late Serajul Haque. His eldest son A T M Sultanul Alam took his higher education from England and now working in a reputed private limited company in Bangladesh. Asiful Alam, the youngest son of Prof. Taibul Hoque, is also serving in a foreign company in Bangladesh after completing his BBA degree from Harriot Watt University of UK and MBA from Dhaka University. The most significant matter is that Prof. Hoque is a freedom fighter of liberation war 1971. During the Liberation War he stayed in India and contributed a lot to our great Liberation War. He is our pride, our honor and respect.
